Wyoming State Penitentiary

As one of WDOC’s largest facilities located in Rawlins, Wyoming, the Wyoming State Penitentiary (WSP)  consistently seeks dedicated Correctional Officers to join its team.

While the WSP is the State’s high-custody facility, it encompasses so much more. WSP houses the male Youth Offender Treatment Program, a dog program, educational programming, a high custody intensive treatment program and a significant number of inmates are involved in the operation of prison industries as well as the day to day operations. In addition, programming and treatment are prioritized resulting in a safe, well run facility with high staff retention and positive inmate outcomes.

Wyoming Women's Center

The Wyoming Women’s Center (WWC) is WDOC’s  primary correctional facility for female offenders. Located in Lusk, Wyoming, is a multi-custody campus providing services and programs within one facility. The WWC houses inmates from intake through discharge.  WWC provides correctional industries,  educational classes including a Bachelor’s program through the University of Wyoming, along with comprehensive treatment and programming opportunities. In addition, the WWC is home to the WDOC female Youth Offender Treatment Program. Because treatment and programming are a priority, the WWC is a safe, well run facility with high staff retention and positive inmate outcomes.

WWC offers an intensive Field Training Officer (FTO) program once candidates complete Basic Training Academy to ensure our staff are highly trained.  Correctional Officers at WWC work daily with facility leadership and other staff to meet the needs of the inmates and operate the facility. Correctional Officers have a voice and can learn about many aspects of prison operations.  In a small facility such as WWC, no day is the same and every person is utilized which results in an enriched experience and multiple opportunities for advancement.
